Artist Statement

I create images because I want to celebrate Vulnerability. I believe that if we want to be happy, we have to learn how to connect with others and have real relationships, and the only way to do that is to learn to be ourselves, and embrace every part of us with love and without judgment.

When I make my pieces, I try to think of what the photograph of a dream would look like. I take an image from the real world and modify it to represent a subjective idea. A dream is an alternate reality in itself and does not abide by the standards of our world, so I try to portray that in my art - an emotion or idea that is pure and goes beyond the basic concept of beauty.

Being at the early stage of my career means that I still have to develop a more defined style for my art, but it also means that I have the freedom to experiment with elements from different disciplines. I like to incorporate ideas from painting, drawing and even animation into my pieces in order to portrait my interpretation of dreams and emotions.

Every image I create is a representation of a feeling, thought or idea, because I know how hard and scary it can be to feel and talk about what we really feel, so my hope is to help people share these ideas by making visual representations of them.

My photographs are meant to be a mirror for others. I want the viewer to understand that a feeling is not good or bad, and inspire them to feel and embrace this in themselves.
